Dec 12, 2022

Life revolves around love as the Earth revolves around the Sun. And although not all of us were lucky enough to find him once and for all, we all have something to say about him. In this selection, we have collected for you books about love with different shades - musical, bookish, coffee, prayerful, hollow.

1.Elizabeth Gilbert, "Eat, Pray, Love"

The main character realizes that she wants to divorce her husband in order to understand who she is and what she wants. And he goes on a journey. Double Mozzarella Margherita Pizza, meditation, rice paddies, slowing down and introspection bring Elizabeth back to a life that can be as different as love. Elizabeth learns to taste food, communicate with God and love without "should" and "tolerate".

2.Milan Kundera, "Funny Loves"

If you are tired of sweet love stories, here are seven novels by Milan Kundera. Here you have betrayal, and lies, and jealousy, and lust, and God. Compliments in the style of "you are as beautiful as a horse." Love triangles-pentagons that lead to accidents and misunderstandings. And all this is against the background of the communist Czech Republic.

3.Lori Verhomin, "Love. Life and Death with Bill Evans"

"Love. Life and Death with Bill Evans" is a memoir about the last years of the musician's life, written by his lover and muse Laurie Verhomin. On the pages of the book, a tragic-musical love story, obscured by drugs, unfolds before us. Lori is too young to help Bill, and Bill is too far into his cocaine addiction to accept her help. Therefore, they do not promise each other anything, but simply fall in love, go to Bill's concerts together and prepare for a meeting with death.
